Australian Muslims rally behind antisemitic nurses

Almost 80 Australian Muslim bodies and individuals have joined forces with the radical Islamist outfit Hizb Ut-Tahrir to support the two Sydney Muslim nurses who hurled antisemitic abuse at Jewish influencer Max Veifer.

‘We condemn the hypocrisy over nurses controversy,’ said a statement by the ‘United Muslim Community’ shared on the Instagram Page of stand4palestineaus.

‘You’re gonna go to Jahannam’

On 12 February 2025, Veifer had posted a video of an interaction between him and two Sydney nurses – Ahmad ‘Rashad’ Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh.

Here are some excerpts from the video:

Nadir: Like, eventually you’re gonna get killed and you’re gonna go to jahannam (hell), Inshallah.

Lebdeh: It’s Palestine’s country, not your country, you piece of shit.

Lebdeh: You will die the most horrible death.

Lebdeh: When your time comes I want you to remember my face so you understand that you will die a most disgusting death.

Veifer: Let’s say an Israeli. God forbid…

Lebdeh: I won’t treat them. I’ll kill them.

Veifer: You’ll kill them? So if an Israeli is in Australia and God forbid something happened to him and he comes to your hospital. Would you kill him?

Nadir: Okay, you have no idea how many Israeli dog came to this hospital and (gestures slitting of throat) I’ll send them to Jahannam.

Nadir claimed to be a doctor in the video.

‘A well-documented pattern of gaslighting by Zionist lobby groups and their friends’

The statement claims:

  • Veifer is a recently serving member of the IOF, and was thus involved in the genocide of the people of Gaza.
  • This is more than hypocrisy (by certain political leaders and media outlets). It is calculated, politically motivated outrage. It is not a failure of consistency; it is the deliberate engineering of public morality.
  • The labelling of this video as “anti-Semitic” follows a well-documented pattern of gaslighting by Zionist lobby groups and their friends within government and media circles.
  • We are unequivocal. Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. The frustration and anger directed at Israel is a direct response to its violent and inhumane policies – not an expression of hatred toward Jewish people.
  • The statements made by the nurses regarding :killing Israelis” were clearly emotional and hyperbolic, as supported by subsequent investigations.

The Australian has identified the antecedents of a number of organisations and individuals who signed the ‘Statement:’

  • Hizb Ut-Tahrir is banned in Great Britain, Germany, Egypt, Turkey, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan other countries.
  • The Muslim Vote will be contesting on an Islamic platform in the coming general elctions.
  • Al Madina Dawah Centre and its founder, Wissam Haddad, also known as Abu Ousayd, Haddad is being sued for vilifying the Jewish community in sermons that allegedly called Jewish people “descendants of pigs and monkeys”, recited Islamic parables about their killing and labelled them “treacherous people.”
  • Ziad Basyouny and Ahmed Ouf are standing as independents in the federal elections.
  • Sheik Wesam Charkawi is the convenor of The Muslim Vote.
  • Stand 4 Palestine is an offshoot of Hizb Ut-Tahrir.

Midwife claims antisemitism is rife in Australian health system

NSW Health midwife Sharon Stoliar told Sharri Markson that antisemitism is rife in the Australian healthcare system.

In October 2023, NSW Health Stoliar had complained to health regulator – Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) about antisemitism.

But instead of taking action on her complaint, AHPRA and the Health Care Complaints Commission entered formal corrective comments on her registration without knowledge, Stoliar told Markson.

It was only after obtaining legal assistance that she was able to have the corrective comments removed and receive an apology from the HCCC.

“It was quite horrific,” Stoliar said.

Ms Stoliar fears the video that showed two south-west Sydney nurses threatening to harm Jewish patients this week is only the “tip of the iceberg”.

Controversial Muslim Senator weighs into debate

Controversial Muslim Senator Fatima Payman also weighed into the debate.

While condemning the conduct of the nurses, Payman went on to say that there was a double standard among politicians and media, saying the “elephant in the room” was the enormity of the response to the video.
