26 year old gangland lawyer Sylvan Singh was today slapped with four charges of attempting to import commercial quantities of drugs.
Sylvan was a Vice President of Shree Sanatan Dharm Sabha of NSW “SSDS,” which runs Austral’s Ram Krishna Temple. He was also President of its Youth Team.
Sylvan is the son of Redline Legal lawyer Ajay Singh. Ajay Singh (pictured) is the President of SSDS.

On the evening of 2 September 2025, police had swooped on the Ram Krishna Mandir and arrested Sylvan Singh there.
Singh was released on bail then after being charged with kidnapping, directing a criminal group, commercial drug supply and other serious offences in September 2025.
Police alleged Sylvan Singh ordered the kidnapping of a man for ransom. The victim’s finger was hacked with a hunting knife during his ordeal which was videoed. Singh used the handles ‘Any means nece$$ary’, ‘Progressive’ and ‘Progressive2’.
Police say he was linked to the $5 billion illicit tobacco trade that has been fuelling nationwide violence. Singh ‘was actively pulling the strings,’ according to police.
Barred from practicing as a solicitor
Prior to his arrest, Singh was working at Redline Legal. However, on 25 September 2025, the Law Society of New South Wales suspended his right to practice on the basis that he had been ‘charged with a number of serious offences.’ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/181TYUCL2C/
Victim of gangland shooting
On 25 May 2025, Sylvan Singh survived a gangland shooting attempt.

Zakaria, died a few days after being shot in the attack.
Bail granted with another $100,000 surety
Today the prosecution opposed bail for Sylvan Singh, alleging that he attempted to import 14 kilograms of pure methamphetamine and 1.7kg of cocaine in air cargo consignments. The packages, it was alleged, were labelled as mash potato packets, coffee machine parts and ink cartridges addressed to a south-west Sydney premises.
Commonwealth prosecutor Matthew Nelson told the court that Sylvan was a flight risk. He had booked a one-way ticket to Dubai when a co-accused was arrested in 2022 and only returned to Australia because was removed from Turkey in early 2023 after his visa was cancelled.
Magistrate Daniel Covington , however, granted bail to Sylvan Singh on a further surety of $100,000 and other strict conditions.
